Welcome to Newborn Baby Initiative (NBBI), a dedicated organization committed to supporting newborn babies and their families in the parishes of Manchester, Clarendon, and St. Elizabeth in Central Jamaica. Our mission is to provide essential support and resources to families with newborn babies, ensuring a healthy, happy, and nurturing start to life.

Our Story

Jamaica, known for its stunning beaches, rich culture, and exceptional athletes, faces significant challenges, particularly for newborns and their families. Thousands of newborns face difficulties ranging from lack of essential medical care and supplies to inadequate nutrition and unstable living conditions. NBBI seeks to address these issues by providing critical resources such as newborn clothing, formula, diapers, medical screenings, and emotional support to mothers and families during the first crucial months of a baby's life.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to empower communities and provide support to families with newborn babies, enabling them to thrive. Our vision is to alleviate day-to-day stress for vulnerable expectant mothers by contributing necessities for safe delivery.

Our Purpose

We believe that by giving to others, we can create a kinder and gentler society. Our purpose is to ensure that every newborn has the chance to thrive, no matter their circumstances.

Our Target

NBBI targets new parents, low-income families, underserved communities, single parents, and teenage parents. We identify vulnerable expectant mothers through referrals from medical officers, lay magistrates, nurses, and community leaders, as well as through health centers, hospitals, and churches.
